Catholicism is the predominant religion in Leticia.
Local tribes conserve their belief system – myths and legends abound in tribal religions. But who’s to say these beliefs are less fantastic than classic Christian ones? Which stories are more mythical?
So that brings us to the issue of respect. Instead of visiting with a posture of proselytization, as travelers, we can learn so much more by listening and entering a world that has survived thousands of years with other beliefs that are no more or less dignified than our own.
